Chris Martens is a creative and innovative multimedia producer, director and creative strategist with 10+ years of client and customer-facing experience in creating groundbreaking entertaining and informative video content across Social Media, Tech, Advertising, Education, Entertainment, and Marketing co-creating 60 Second Docs, one of the most watched shows on Facebook with 9+ billion views and leading production and social media at Peppermint, a VC backed startup..
Martens co--created of the documentary web-series 60 Second Docs. The show was sold to Indigenous Media, and has gone onto becoming one of the most watched shows on Facebook with 9b+ views. The episodes he directed have 55m+ combined views on Facebook.
He was a member of the 2017 Fullscreen SVOD Think Tank, where he developed creative short and long-form shows centered around the company’s in-house roster of creators, brands, and influencers that grew the platform’s subscribers from launch to over 500k subscribers.
Chris followed his interest in short format videos by exploring creating learning-driven videos for 2U, and produced 2000+ hours of integrated and industrial campaigns for high profile clients including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Google, GE Digital, American Express, USC and Pepperdine. Chris was selected by c-suite leadership to lead video production on the “Exemplar Course,” 2U’s largest-scale video marketing project, in creating superb video content in-house that delivered compelling use-case narratives of 2U’s services to new customers, while experimenting with new formats including interactive podcasts, live streaming, VR, and Metaverse learning platforms to drive improvements in user experience and appeal to a younger audience.
In March of 2020, Chris created the “Studio In A Box” remote filming kit for 2U, and production on marketing storytelling assets in creating testimonial videos, sales PDFs, written success stories, web pages, podcast content webinars, and photo essays that resulted in a $330m debt raise and 10+ new partnership agreements.
Martens also produced the feature Starcrossed which premiered at the San Diego film festival and American Zealot which premiered at the Saint Louis Film Festival.
Most recently, Chris was a producer on the feature documentary Defining US, a look inside the nations largest schools, showing the struggles, hopes and dreams of marginalized students, that premiered at Dances with Films 2022 and was released on streaming platforms in August 2022.
